Together we can Change Worlds®

Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene has had a devastating impact across the Southeastern US states since landfall on September 26th. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.

In North Carolina, Burnsville’s Mayland Earth to Sky Park’s Arthur Planetarium, which has been showing James Hood’s Mesmerica 360 for almost a year, is a beloved place where people come together to learn about the natural world. Sadly, due to the hurricane’s impact, the park and community college are closed until further notice.

Let's Make A Difference

In response, we are committed to supporting the communities impacted by the hurricane. We invite our audiences to join us in giving back if they can. Every contribution helps, and together, we can make a difference. Here are some ways you can help:

Mayland Community College Foundation

The MCC Foundation Annual Fund, not only helps keep the Foundation running but will prove vital in the Foundation’s recovery following the impact of Hurricane Helene.

The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund

The state is encouraging financial donations to the NC Disaster Relief Fund. This fund will help meet immediate needs by reimbursing nonprofits assisting disaster survivors.

Red Cross America

Nearly 500 Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground, with hundreds more on the way. Once safe, responders will assess damage and distribute meals and relief supplies.

Feeding the Carolinas

The food banks of Feeding the Carolinas are hard at work assessing the impact on their local communities and offering food assistance and hope to our friends and neighbors.

Change Worlds® extends the impact of our shows, inviting our audiences to turn hope into action by driving tangible change in their communities.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
